Toothpaste Shipments Rise in Past Year

JAPAN: Domestic shipments of toothpaste in 2006 rose 2.4% to $733 million. The more expensive, high-value-added products, designed to be effective in preventing dental diseases and bad breath, showed strong sales, causing the average unit price of toothpastes to turn up. Lion Corp. remained the market leader by releasing an array of high-value-added products.
